Assessment is carried out through continuous careful observation of the children as they take part in various activities in relation to the outcomes and experiences of The Curriculum for Excellence and Argyll and Bute Developmental Milestones.
In the summer term of your child’s last year of nursery before school, he/she will take a Literacy baseline assessment, involving knowledge of nursery rhymes and familiarity with books and their layout (concept of print). This will inform the primary school of your child’s achievements so they can plan for his/her needs.
